Customer's drive came out of a Dell laptop that was freezing upon boot up and getting a blue screen upon Windows operating system loading. Per customer, prior repair and recovery attempts by other companies were unsuccessful.
Our staff picked the drive up from the customer's business.
Internal drive in the laptop was a Western Digital 2.5" hard disk drive, model: WD3200BEVT-00A0RT0
Failure: the internal drive sustained degradation where bad sectors began developing causing hard disk drive to fail. SMART attribute flag were tripped and drive therefore became unstable. This was categorized as a logical failure.
Solution: HDD's firmware were modified to prevent drive's own internal error scanning activation and operation with the goal of minimizing further damage. Binary copy of the failed HDD were created using advanced data recovery hardware based equipment to a healthy drive. Upon imaging process completion, the files were extracted to a brand new USB interface Toshiba external drive. File listing were provided to the customer for review. Upon review confirmation, the recovered data on the Toshiba external drive were delivered to the customer.
Complementary file restore service: for a small fee, the customer's critical quickbooks (.qbw) and outlook (.pst) files were restored to a new Asus laptop by Data Recovery Guru's engineering staff onsite.
Customer purchased new Asus laptop from the local Best Buy store.
Outcome: Customer was happy stating "Your service was outstanding! Thank you."
